[EN]Isocitrate Dehydrogenase (IDH) is a key enzyme in the Krebs cycle, being responsible for the production of one of the three CO2 molecules related to cellular respiration. In order to measure the potential CO2 production linked to the marine planktonic community we have adapted an enzymatic methodology. Preliminary results show that different proportions of autotrophs, heterotrophs and mixotrophs and their metabolic pathways, lead to different relationships between potential CO2 emission and potential O2 consumption during cellular respiration. Although more experiments need to be made, this methodology is leading to a better understanding of cellular respiration in marine samples and their impact on the food chain, vertical Carbon flux and the current sequestering capacity for anthropogenic CO2.

[EN]This work studies the binaries of 1-butyl-X-methylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate [bXmpy][BF4] (X = 2, 3, and 4) with four 1,ω-dichloroalkanes, ω = 1−4, using the results obtained for the mixing properties hE and v E at two temperatures. The three isomers of the ionic liquid (IL) are weakly miscible with the 1,ω-dichloroalkanes when ω ≥ 5 and moderately soluble for ω = 4. The vE s of all the binaries present contractive effects, v E < 0, which are more pronounced with increasing temperature; the variation in vE with ω is positive, although this changes after ω = 4 due to problems of immiscibility

[EN]The use of IT for teaching and learning is widely accepted as a means to enhance the learning experience. Hence, education professionals at all levels experience the impulse to introduce some kind of IT design in classrooms of every kind, where the use of IT has, at points, become mandatory. Nevertheless, there are little conclusive data that pinpoints what are the exact benefits that a given IT design, per se, brings to teaching or learning [1,2,3,4]. As any other technology, we contend, IT should be closely associated to the teaching methodology to be implemented, having into account all the factors that are going to influence all the process. In this article, we will analyse parameters that are considered to be critical if we are to predict the posible success of an IT design.

[EN]Linguistic immersion programs are increasing nowadays. The concept of being bilingual, that started being used by schools for the elite in the 19th century, and that in the mid- 20th century became an educational option, has given raise to CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), a methodology through which students work in a bilingual environment, acquiring knowledge of curricular subject and developing their competences in a foreign language. In this teaching context started a new European project called PlayingCLIL. Six partners from different European countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and Romania) are working in this project. Our main aim is to develop a new methodology to learn a foreign language combining elements from the pedagogic drama (interactive games) with the CLIL classroom. At present we are testing the games in different schools and high schools and we are compiling the results to be collected in a handbook (printed and e-book).
